Sangiovese Superiore di Romagna DOC Riserva ‘I Fondi’

Tasting Notes

Gregorina Sangiovese Riserva is made with 100% estate-owned grapes, sourced from the best, hill-side plot on the estate, called “I Fondi’.

Deep ruby red color, its bouquet is bold with fruity aromas followed by notes of violet, pepper and tobacco. Full and round on the palate, complex and layered with the fruity notes well integrated by the oak ageing, thus offering smooth and elegant tannins. Because of its subtle complexity, it will pair beautifully with first course with meat sauces, red meats cooked any style, game and aged cheeses.

Sangiovese is Italy’s most widely planted red grape: not only in Tuscany where it produces noble wines such as Chianti, Brunello and Vino Nobile, but also in many other regions of central Italy, including neighboring Emilia-Romagna. Sangiovese di Romagna generally produces wines with a richer fragrance than Tuscan sangiovese.
