Rosso Piceno DOC ‘Morellone’

label image label image

Tasting Notes

The great painter Michelangelo gave the name morellone to his darkest red color and it is only fitting that this name be applied to this intense, almost impenetrable, ruby red wine.  A blend of Montepulciano (70%) and Sangiovese (30%), Morellone displays an intense bouquet of forest berry fruit along with vegetal notes and spice. The Fruit is backed by some acidity and well balanced with smooth tannins on the finish. Pairs well with rich meals, grilled or stewed red meats, and aged cheeses.
