Pinot Nero Langhe DOC ‘Campo Romano’

Tasting Notes

‘Campo Romano’ is made with 100% Burgundian Pinot Noir from old vines, planted in 1977.  The name ‘Roman Field’ derives from the fact that ancient Roman artifacts were found on the site when planting the vineyards.

Subtle ruby red in color, ‘Campo Romano’ has an elegant aroma of cherry, tobacco, and spices. It shows ripe fruit on the palate with well-embedded tannins and a long finish. It has good ageing potential. It may not be a traditional Piemontese wine, but it makes an excellent match for Piemontese ravioli, roasts, and poultry dishes.
