Colli di Luni Bianco DOC ‘Fior di Luna’

Tasting Notes

‘Fior du Luna’ takes its name from the intense floral notes of this wine made with a blend of Vermentino, Greco and local Albarola grapes. Light straw yellow color with greenish highlights. Delicate and fresh with a wide bouquet of floral and fruity aromas such as peaches. Dry and tangy.  Very pleasant acidity and a refreshing fruit finish. Ideal with seafood platters and appetizers, sushi or simply as an aperitif.

Colli di Luni is one of the few DOC appellations that straddles over two regions: the easternmost part Liguria (La Spezia) and neighboring  coastal Tuscany (Massa Carrara). Everything about the Colli di Luni represents the transition between Liguria and Tuscany – the geography, the grape varieties, the wine styles.

The ‘Fior di Luna’ 2013 was the recipient of the Grand Gold Medal Award as the best still white wine at the International Wine Competition at VinItaly 2014. Also rated 90 points by Wine Spectator.
