Barbaresco DOCG ‘Roncaglie’

label image label image

Tasting Notes

A traditional-style Barbaresco, 100% Nebbiolo sourced from one of the finest crus, Roncaglie (next to Gaja), documented as far back as 1880. The first vintage produced was 1956. Unfiltered.

This Barbaresco intense ruby-red in color. It has a complex and lively nose with earthy notes of blackberry, wild rose, and violet. This is a classic Barbaresco that maintains the elegance of the Roncaglie cru: full, pervasive, and intense on the palate with velvety tannins and a long, elegant finish. It has great aging potential. This is a fine wine that can be enjoyed throughout the entire meal, and it pairs particularly well with red meats and game birds.

Harvest takes place between the 5th and 15th of October. The grapes are crushed and destemmed, then macerated on the skins for approximately 12 to 15 days at controlled temperatures.

Aging
