Barbaresco DOCG

Tasting Notes

Similar to its more famous sibling Barolo, Barbaresco is made from 100% Nebbiolo and shares its cult status as one of the finest wines in Italy and the world. Due to a slight maritime influence, which allows grapes to ripen a little earlier, barbaresco is known to show a softer, more feminine side of Nebbiolo, with softer tannins that make it more approachable when young.

Castel Boglione is a traditionally-made Barbaresco that shows a light garnet color and offers classic notes of roses, tobacco and sweet spices. Dry on the palate with red fruit notes, good minerality and well-balanced tannins. Good body and long finish. Best enjoyed with meat based dishes, braiosed beef, game, wild duck and turkey, risotto with porcini mushrooms and aged cheeses.
